Are you tired of high energy bills and feeling the chill in your home?

Look no further than Experthousing Insulation, your trusted partner in making your home more energy efficient and comfortable.
We are excited to introduce the Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS), a new government initiative designed to improve the energy efficiency of homes across Great Britain
.

The GBIS, formerly known as ECO+, is a government energy efficiency scheme administered by Ofgem. It aims to target the least energy-efficient homes in Great Britain, tackling fuel poverty and reducing energy bills. Unlike the Energy Company Obligation (ECO4) scheme, which offers a ‘whole house’ approach, GBIS focuses on delivering single insulation measures.

At Experthousing, we’re proud to support the Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS) a government-backed program that helps UK homeowners and private renters save on energy bills by providing FREE cavity wall and loft insulation.

With the Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS) you could now qualify for free loft and cavity wall insulation. The loft and cavity wall insulation package offers our most comprehensive savings and energy efficient improvements. However, if your home only needs a single insulation measure, you could be eligible for free cavity wall insualtion.

The government insulation scheme started out as ECO+, with the aim of helping eligible UK homeowners insulate their homes, making them more energy efficient. A well-insulated home retains more heat, which translates to an increaae in comfort, and decrease in energy use. The scheme was launched in the summer of 2023 and will run until March 2026.

What’s the eligibility criteria for GBIS?

GBIS FAQs

What’s the difference between ECO4 and GBIS?

In early 2022, the ECO4 scheme targeted those living in homes with low EPC ratings and qualifying benefits, but it excluded those from the least energy-efficient households that don’t receive additional government support. The Great British Insulation Scheme will help hundreds of thousands of homeowners insulate their homes.

What is an EPC rating and how can I check it?

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) lets all UK homeowners or tenants know how much energy their home is using or losing. The EPC will provide you with a rating from A to G, with A being the best and G being the worst. Please visit check my EPC rating, and if you don’t have one you can get a new EPC certificate.

Do I need to be an Experthousing Next customer, and will I have to pay extra for anything?

No, you don’t need to be an existing Expert Housing customer, and in most cases, the service is completely free under the government-funded Great British Insulation Scheme.
All insulation work, including cavity wall and loft insulation, is fully covered.
However, in very rare cases, if we can’t safely access certain parts of your home, scaffolding may be required, which could involve a small cost. If you’re applying for first-time loft insulation, a small contribution might apply—but we’ll inform you clearly before any work starts.
